Somehow, I feel busy all the time even though I take mad long breaks during the day. Maybe one feeds the other and I take the breaks to make sure I stay sane. So it goes...

Interesting things I've been privy to during the last week:

I found out Ronnie McGill can do back flips. See what he had to say in this week's "View From the Couch" column, Don't Flip Out Over Football Quirks, which has a Barbershop bonus list of questions I didn't get answers to.

Blockhead's song Insomniac Olympics is absolutely ridiculous. I just get hype listening to it, no matter what kind of mood I'm in. Even against my will.

Speaking of music, y'all need to check Insight. Dude has a song called Seventeen MC's off his CD, The Blast Radius, in which he actually impersonates 17 MCs - from Canibus to Big L to Method Man and Dr. Dre. Gotta hear it to believe it. It's straight fire.

My girl Dawn hooked up me up with the info on an interesting development - Brooklyn! The Musical. Go to The Music and download Once Upon a Time (for free!) It would seem Broadway's gonna have a new showstopper.

Harris Teeter sells kegs. Me and Dave are throwing our first party tomorrow. Should be good times.

Defy Gravity...

...which is a song from WICKED! Yea, my boy Sash's motto is from a Broadway musical. I know dude mad well, so it makes sense, but I'm just sayin.

Late night Yom Kippur... I could be sleeping, but I feel like fasting is useless if you're not experiencing it. So it goes.

I've been working on updating my "professional" site, which is the one for potential employers to look over. It was done before, but the html was a mess, so I've been cleaning it up for most of the past day or two. It'll give me something to concentrate on tomorrow. I'll post the link when it's done.

Oh, and in case you hadn't explored my site fully, I've been posting my View From the Couch columns online with bonus material. Hopefully that entertains you kids. There's some stuff that I know would never make it's way into the paper, but I throw in before JK reads to entertain him. Check them out.

And in the theme of the holiday, everybody's off the hook. I hope you can let me off for anything stupid I've done in the last year. Grudges just make you bitter. Be easy.

And hungry, like I am.

First test is overwith. That's always a plus. Much anticipation and not-so-much actual difficulty. Today was a nice little day.

Got my hair cut for 10 bucks better than I have on the Hill before. Campus Barber, below Cosmic. Check it out - good people there. I'd link to it, but their Web site doesn't exist.

I managed to bike back and forth twice to Mill Creek without killing myself. Always a plus, that.

I got a new RJD2 CD - In Rare Form...Unreleased Instrumentals. It's dope. I stand by the beat for "Saliva" as one of the best hip-hop beats I've heard. Kwe's on the way, beautifully struggling to get into my mailbox. Be easy.

There are times I wish my sense of morals was not quite so finely inlaid. An interesting night, I do have to say.

At least the Yankees lost.

Oh, and this comic strip is hilarious. If you're not Jewish, find a MoT and ask. It'll all come together.

So I was cruising around the internet last week, checking to see the progress of the Barbershop's status in the Google directory, and found out something quite interesting - it seems that both the original Barbershop and the Home of the Dyslexic Cow are still floating in cyberspace.

Which means that a lot of my previous work, which I may or may not have hard copy of (remember that ill-fated hard drive issue last fall) is still around. To celebrate the occasion, I've posted what may well be the pinnacle of my writing, Conditioner, and it's precursor, Shampoo, up on the new site for easy access, under the Styled Short Stories banner.

Read them. They hit hard, but I think you'll get me just a little bit better if you do. Besides that, I'd recommend checking out the old sites if you want to know where I was at Freshman and Senior years at Stuy, this is your chance. You can also find the sites by googling "barbershop" and "couch" for the old-school Barbershop or "dyslexic cow" for the HoDC. Enjoy.

So I forced issues... but it was without realizing that I couldn't actually force them. What's that mean? It means I left an offer on the table that previously wasn't considered. So it goes.

Any case. On the remainder tip, some girls confuse me and others just make things difficult. It's easier to avoid all of them altogether.

Be well, be easy and be smart.

Peace.

P.S.
The Cyclones got dumped in the first round of the playoffs... no ring for me, but word to Brooklyn - I got your back.

If you had the chance to finally force a three-year-old situation to come to a head, you'd do it, right?

I'm struggling. The wuss in me is thinking too much, and telling me that this has major potential to cause more problems than I'm currently sitting on. My instincts, in true Jim Fassel fashion, are telling me that the chips are on the table, and it's time to push mine to the middle.

I'm just hoping this isn't the game at the beginning of Rounders, when Mike McD goes for the house and gets cleaned out by KGB.

Who's sleeve holds the ace?

It's officially official.

The Barbershop: Deluxe Expanded Edition.

Check it.

I had a near-catastrophe with the blog yesterday that ended up cleaning up HTML throughout the rest of the site, not to mention allowing you to post commments regarding the blog entries at the end of each of them.

And me staying up until 4. Details.

Tomorrow, it happens.

Be prepared - The Barbershop, Deluxe Expanded Edition.
